Computer Service linked
to the University of Malta network

This enables University Students to connect to the Internet free of charge in the comfort of their rooms. This service provides cost-effective computer technology for research, email and preparation of University study papers. This facility is only offered at the Malta University Residence.

Housekeeping

Our housekeeping staff are dedicated to maintaining and cleaning the premises and individual accommodations ensuring that they are clean and everything is in working order. This is accomplished by means of scheduled once-a-week housekeeping visits to every student accommodation. The service does not include the washing of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.

Accommodation Supplies

Towels and bed linen are provided for use within the residence only and must not be removed from the premises. Fresh linen and towels are provided during the regular scheduled cleaning service.

Laundry Service

The Residence is equipped a with coin operated laundry facility which is accessible for use 24 hours a day.

Telephone Services

Every apartment is equipped with a telephone. Incoming calls can be received any time of the day. Students can contact each other internally by dialling the appropriate apartment number.

Outgoing and International calls are easily accomplished by utilising the numerous card phones provided by Malta's telecommunications provider. Cost effective phone cards can be purchased from Reception for use in the Residence International Call Center.

Free Shuttle Service to University

The Residence offers a free scheduled bus service connecting with the University of Malta directly. The current time table is available online.

Student dining Services

Students have a variety of inexpensive dining choices. Available at the University Residence Lounge Bar & Restaurant is a range of nutritious foods and beverages. Options ranging from a variety of tasty bread rolls and sandwiches to hot snacks, crisp salads, fresh hamburgers, pizzas and daily meals. Students may relax in the lounge bar area, watch TV on the plasma screens available or make use of the recreational equipment in the games room. The Residence also provides a mini market facility, where students may purchase their daily requirements at competitive prices.

Our caterers also provide wholesome meals on a daily basis at favourable prices. Residents may take advantage of our special discounted prices for prepaid meal plans as follows:

+30 Meal Plan @ €135 (10% savings)
+60 Meal Plan @ €255 (15% savings)
+90 Meal Plan @ €360 (20% savings)

By purchasing one of the above plans, students are entitled to utilise a number of meals according to the plan chosen, throughout the semester booked. These may be used on different days, and meals must be pre booked at the our restaurant at least 24hrs before.

Cook your own

All accommodation units are equipped for the student to cook and eat meals in, using their own facilities. The list of equipment includes - Cooker, refrigerator/freezer and washing sink. Pots, pans, plates and cutlery are provided against a deposit to be refunded when items are returned provided that the items are returned in good condition. The kitchen has limited storage space for utensils.

Security

Students who share accommodation are encouraged to make specific agreements between themselves concerning times when visitors are welcome and time limits for entertaining guests. Consideration for your roommates and respect for the individual's needs for privacy should be established early. Steel lockers are provided within all bedrooms. Padlocks are on sale at reception.

Insurance

Every effort is made by management to provide a secure and trouble free living environment. However, the University Residence does not assume responsibility for the private property of its residents and is not liable for the loss or damage to any article of personal property. Students are encouraged to carry an appropriate insurance to cover personal belongings. Security boxes are available from the concierge services located at the reception area at a nominal fee.
